1. Introduction
The SHIFT Advisory ("we", "us", "our") operates shiftbusinessadvisory.com and delivers The Founder Series and related advisory programs. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
By using this site, registering for a program, or joining a waitlist, you consent to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or submit information through it.
2. Personal Information
We collect information you give us directly, including when you join a waitlist, reserve a seat, register for a program, or contact us. That typically includes:
- Name and email address
- Phone number, if you choose to provide one
- Business or organization details you share, such as your role or whether you belong to a partner organization
- Billing information required to process your registration
Payment card details are entered directly into our payment processor's secure checkout and are never stored on our servers or visible to us. We receive only a confirmation, the amount, and the last four digits.
3. Data, Diagnostic, and Login Information
Our systems automatically log technical information when you visit, including IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the pages you view. This is used to keep the site secure, diagnose problems, and understand aggregate usage.
4. Analytics Information
We may use cookies and third-party analytics to understand how visitors move through the site, which pages hold attention, and where people leave. Most browsers let you refuse cookies or alert you when one is set. Refusing cookies may affect how parts of the site function.
5. Geo-Location Information
We do not collect real-time location data. General region may be inferred from your IP address for security and analytics purposes only.
6. What We Do With the Information We Collect
- Deliver the programs and services you registered for
- Send confirmations, receipts, venue details, schedule changes, and program materials
- Send marketing and program announcements, which you can unsubscribe from at any time
- Respond to your questions and provide support
- Improve our programs, site, and communications
- Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations
7. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to operate, specifically with the service providers described in section 10, with our advisors delivering the program you registered for, and where required by law or to protect our rights.
This site links to and embeds third-party services. Once you interact with those, their own privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for the practices of sites we link to.
8. Marketing and Publicity
Programs may include group photography and participant introductions. If you would prefer not to appear in photographs or promotional materials, tell us and we will honor that. We will not quote you by name in marketing without your permission.
9. Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, for any purpose.
10. Service Providers and Business Partners
We rely on trusted vendors to run the business. These currently include our customer relationship and email platform, our payment processor, our website host, and our analytics provider. Each receives only the information needed to perform its function and is bound to protect it.
When a program is hosted in partnership with another organization, we may share registration lists with that partner solely for event logistics. We will tell you at registration when this applies.
11. Non-Personal Information
We may publish or share aggregated, de-identified information, such as how many founders attended a session or the industries represented in a cohort. This cannot be used to identify you.
12. Internal Uses
Internally, we use your information to run programs, maintain records, improve curriculum, and communicate with you. Access is limited to the people who need it.
13. Retention of Information
We keep your information for as long as needed to provide services and meet legal and accounting obligations. You may ask us to delete your information at any time by emailing us. We will honor the request except where we are required to retain records, such as transaction history for tax purposes.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a revised date, and where appropriate we will notify you by email. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept them.
15. California Consumer Privacy Act
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request deletion, to opt out of sale, which does not apply since we do not sell, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email us at the address below.
16. Questions, Complaints, and Contact
Email human@shiftbusinessadvisory.com with any question about this policy, a request to access or delete your information, or a concern about how your data has been handled. We respond to privacy requests within 30 days.
